This is Celia’s Story. Celia is a desperately unhappy woman, trapped in a loveless marriage which she finds a disturbing parallel to the relationship her parents had while she was growing up. Seeking counsel from a famous psychiatrist, she tells him of her bleak childhood in the post-war 1950’s that includes neglect from her parents and constant bullying at school. She then meets and falls in love with a man who helps her to break away from her hopeless life and venture out into a new world of freedom and independence – until an explosive turn of events puts everything on a new course.
